18th January 2010 - New Product Line-up!
Version 3.0 of SailClever Racer is now available! A new main menu interface has been implemented that allows you get to the most used screens with only one click. The most important forms have been optimised for speed so that they open almost instantly. We have also cut the time taken to input courses, ping the line and set-up the comms. For instance if you are inputting a fixed mark course from a course card we have nearly halved the button clicks required meaning a full route from a course card can now be inputted in as little as 10 seconds! While most of the work has focused on improving the flow of the program we have also built in one new feature for starting. Previously the program only worked out the line bias for upwind starts. Now if you are starting on a reach or a run the program will show you the time to the first mark from five points along the line so that you can choose the optimum place to start. Over the winter we have also been working on our new iPhone version. Unfortunately this has been delayed due to technical issues and it won’t be ready for the upcoming season. 18th January 2010 - HTC HD2 Bluetooth issue We are not currently supporting Windows Mobile 6.5 devices and in particular the HTC Touch 2 due to an incompatability with the bluetooth on the phone. We hope to have this fixed soon. If you are running Windows Mobile 6.5 and would like to buy the software we suggest that you first apply for a trial licence to make sure the software runs as expected. 1st October - New Product Line-up! From today we have decided to change our product offerings. Listening to demand from our users we have already developed a PC version of the software. We are also currently working on porting the software over for use on the iPhones and iPod Touch. We have decided to change how we sell our current Windows Mobile version of the software. From now on we will only supply the software pre-installed and bundled with the Nautiz X7. This is the latest rugged PDA on the market and its built in features like digital compass and GPS will allow us add extra functionality to the program. Check back over the next few months for further updates. We will of course continue to support all existing users. 4th September - SailClever PC 1.01 released SailClever PC is now available for download and purchase on computers running Windows XP and Vista. Download the demo version and try it for yourself. Plan ahead during your race, sail to your target boatspeeds, log your race and much, much more. 25th August - SailClever PC (Beta) announced SailClever are delighted to announce that SailClever PC is now available for XP/Vista. Try out our new Beta version. Version 2.2 includes a new Time to the Line feature and many other upgrades as listed below in the release notes for 2.2 beta. 25th May 2009 - Excel Course Card and mark file generator released To help make the creation of mark files and course cards easier we have created a special Excel spreadsheet to simplify the process. You can input all the data in Excel and then simply export it to a text file by the press of a button. The spreadsheet will output the data in the correct format. All that is left to do then is to drag the files over to your device. Many thanks to Tom Smith of Davas Ltd for doing most of the work on the spreadsheet. You can get the spreadsheet by clicking here… Note: It is currently still on beta release 1st May 2009 - Updated Beta released A new beta of 2.2 has been released that includes a number of refinements mainly to the time to the line feature! 22rd April 2009 - Version 2.2 BETA Released 4th March 2009 - Version 2.1 Released Version 2.1 now supports widescreen formats, specifically 240x400 and 480x800! These are becoming popular on a number of the new smartphones. We have also built in some basic gesturing commands. When you are in the Race Menu simply swipe to the right and the Next Leg screen will appear! Let us know what you think! 18th February 2009 - Send us your Mark Files and Course Cards The team at SailClever will soon be updating the mark files and course cards to reflect any changes over the Winter. If you can send us, in electronic format, mark GPS co-ordinates and course cards for your sailing area they can be included. This should be much faster than manually entering this information. Let us know what you think! 20th September 2008 - Version 1.23 released Now supports PHRF, a new mark insert function for fixed mark courses and the ability to select distances units as either feet or meters. Available now from the download page! 30th July 2008 - Version 1.20 released Version 1.20 of SailClever Racer is released today. This version includes a totally updated race menu to allow you get the race information you need more quickly and clearly. There are also a number of other changes to the user interface to reduce the number of clicks to complete a given task. While there are no major feature additions to this release we think it is a great improvement. Hope you like it! 30th May 2008 - Version 1.1 released Version 1.1 of SailClever Racer includes bug fixes and a number of new features. The most significant addition is the ability to view a track of the boat which allows you to drag and drop marks to the exact position where you rounded them. This is hugely useful for windward leeward and olympic courses. The SailClever site has been designed so that user can purchase online, ask questions and download all the resources they need. We will be adding further developments over the next couple of months.
